Professional benefits

As a Professional Trader, you’ll get some of the same features as a standard account – such as our range of markets, award-winning platforms and in-depth analysis – but you’ll waive access to negative balance protection and lower leverage limits. We will also assume you have a higher level of knowledge and experience.

However, as a Pro you’ll get some exclusive benefits on top of our normal offering, including margin rates from 0.25%, monthly cash rebates, access to the credit facility, your own dedicated relationship manager and invitations to hospitality events.

You can get a Professional account with us by ensuring you meet the eligibility requirements for either of our two Professional accounts.

To apply for Professional account A (wholesale), you need to have one of the following:

• Net assets of AU$2.5 million
• A gross income for each of the last two financial years of at least AU$250,000

To qualify for professional account B (sophisticated), you must meet two of the following three criteria:

• To have made a minimum of at least 40 significantly sized trades per year*
• To currently have a financial portfolio in excess of $250,000**
• To have worked in a professional capacity in the financial sector for 1+ years

* Significant size is determined as a minimum notional value of $20,000 on equities or $100,000 on forex, indices and commodities (or currency equivalent). Please contact PrivateClientAU@StoneX.com or 02 9028 7573 if you would like us to check if you meet this criteria.

** Examples of acceptable types of portfolio, assets and investments are cash savings, stock portfolios, trading accounts, both cash and leveraged and mutual funds. Please note that we would not accept superannuation funds, non-tradable assets, property, luxury cars and jewellery.
